Chris Rock appeared on the stage to present an award for Best Documentary. During his presenting speech he made a joke about Will Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, who currently has a shaven head. "Jada, I love you. G.I. Jane 2, can’t wait to see you", said the comedian.

In reaction to the joke, Pinkett Smith rolled her eyes. Will Smith walked up on stage and appeared to punch Chris, much to everyone's surprise. He then walked back to his seat. "Will Smith just smacked the sh*t out of me", said Rock, seemingly confused by the outburst.

"Keep my wife’s name out your f*cking mouth", shouted Smith.

"Wow... dude. It was a G.I. Jane joke", replied Rock.

This might be the most shocking moment in awards history.
