The Cal Pirelli Calendar 2022, streaming presentation and cocktail party "On the road": dates and guests

As anticipated by Il Giornale d'Italia, "On the road" will be this year's theme on the upcoming Cal Pirelli Calendar 2022, with photographs taken by the Canadian songwriter and photographer Bryan Adams. According to an indiscretion that came exclusively to us, the unveiling of the calendar will take place on November 29th in Milan, at the Pirelli Hangar Bicocca, where a special cocktail party will be set up in the presence of Adams as special guest and Marco Tronchetti Provera as host. Everything will be accompanied by the music of Ben Dj.

The unveiling of the calendar will be preceded on November 28th at 5:00 pm by a special presentation as anticipated last August by Il Giornale d'Italia. The press conference will take place in an exclusive live streaming event streamed worldwide, that adapts to the new needs imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic. The event will be led by Brian Adams with his photograps and voice during the presentation of the calendar.

"I chose this particular theme because it is what we, the musicians, cannot do now, but we can still be inspired by the idea of ​​traveling, since this is the way of living for musicians, when we go around to play", explained Bryan Adams last summer. So, a big and important change for the Pirelli calendar that we used to see. "Indeed there will be no nudes and sexy poses as usual", the artist said. "It was not something born recently, as I started touring I also started taking pictures, to document, to remember when time would pass".

The open road, the freedom of a pre-pandemic life, the lust of a simple gaze. These are the pillars of the new Pirelli calendar as envisioned by Bryan Adams. A photoshoot that doesn't require revealing poses and inexplicable promiscuity to communicate true sensuality. According to Adams, the real strenght of his photographs lies in the looks, in the memories that every shot is trying to tell the audience, in the feelings the photoshoot provokes in both the artist and the model. It is voyeurism at its finest in this traveling concept that breaks all norms and aims to surprise. A chance for us all to admire, or at least to imagine, a world where the pleasure of living freely it's tied to the black and white image.

A journey "on the road" that wants to be a beacon of hope after a year and a half of restrictions and darkness. "We were supposed to shoot last year but because of the pandemic we had to stop - said Bryan Adams during an interview on set - the concept is the same, we merely extended it to both men and women and focused on the music instead".You heard it right. There will be a man in the Pirelli calendar 2022. But not just any man. Alongside the impeccable Cher there is someone who for fame and talent is (almost) her equal: the king of hard rock Iggy Pop. Besides them also young artists such as Rita Ora or the Rapper Sweetie.

The location? The Palace Theatre and the Chateau Marmont Hotel of Los Angeles. The choice of the photo set was made according to the Covid-19 restriction still in place in the United States, and it took into account the fact that many musicians are from that area. Another photoshoot has taken place in the beautiful island of Capri, at the Hotel La Scalinatella. Other artists present in The Cal 2022 include: Cher, Grimes, Rita Ora, Bohan Phoenix, Jennifer Hudson, Iggy Pop, Saweetie, St. Vincent, Kali, Uchis and Elon Musk's wife.
